In my previous role as a Community Engagement Specialist, I had to adapt and problem-solve in a community engagement setting when we were faced with a last-minute venue cancellation for a community event. With only a week left until the event, I quickly reached out to local businesses and community organizations to seek alternative venues. After several phone calls and meetings, I successfully secured a new location that could accommodate our event. However, this new venue had different logistical requirements, so I had to quickly coordinate with our team to adjust the event setup and logistics. Despite the challenges, the event was a success and we received positive feedback from the community. This experience taught me the importance of staying flexible, maintaining a strong network, and being able to problem-solve under time constraints.
