In my previous role as an EdTech Content Developer, I had the opportunity to improve the accessibility of educational content for learners with special needs. One specific example was when I was tasked with creating a math lesson for a digital learning platform that needed to be accessible to students with visual impairments. To ensure accessibility, I included alternative text descriptions for all visual elements, such as graphs and diagrams. I also included audio descriptions and transcripts for all video content. Additionally, I used a screen reader to test the lesson and made necessary adjustments to improve its usability for visually impaired students. The feedback from both students and educators was extremely positive, as they appreciated the inclusivity and accessibility of the content.
