I faced resistance when advocating for environmental policies at a school where I was implementing an environmental education program. Some teachers were hesitant to include sustainability topics in their curriculum because they felt it took away from other subject areas. To handle the situation, I scheduled a meeting with the teachers to address their concerns. I presented research on the benefits of incorporating environmental education into various subjects and shared success stories from other schools. I also offered to provide resources, lesson plans, and support to help them integrate sustainability into their teaching. By showing them the positive impact it could have on their students' learning and engagement, I was able to overcome their resistance and gain their support.
