Tell me about a time when you used statistical analysis to improve a process.

In my previous role as a Quality Assurance Analyst, I had the opportunity to use statistical analysis to improve our software testing process. We were facing challenges with identifying the most critical defects and allocating our testing resources effectively. To address this, I implemented a statistical analysis technique called Pareto analysis. I analyzed the defect data and identified the top 20% of defects that were causing 80% of the issues. By focusing our testing efforts on these high-impact defects, we were able to significantly improve the quality of our software releases. This approach also allowed us to allocate our testing resources more efficiently and reduce the overall testing time.
