Tell us about a time when you had to negotiate with stakeholders in a planning process.

In my previous role as a Senior City Planner, I often had to negotiate with stakeholders in the planning process. One specific instance was when we were developing a comprehensive land use plan for a growing suburban municipality. We had to consider the interests and concerns of various stakeholders, including local residents, business owners, environmental groups, and government officials. I organized several stakeholder meetings to gather their input and ensure their voices were heard. Through active listening and open communication, I was able to address their concerns and find common ground. We worked collaboratively to develop a plan that balanced the need for economic development with environmental sustainability. The final plan received unanimous support from all stakeholders.
